HOT PICK: MARCH

During the course of the month, there has been a lot happening. I would be sharing one of them with y'all.

New: Ankara/ African print shoes.
These gorgeous shoes that i have always imagined but never thought would have happened have finally hit the market. Generally referred to as the African print, the Ankara is the cotton material with flamboyant prints usually worn in African countries, the name varies from different countries some call it kente , wudden and so on. However, over the years this material has been restricted to clothes but thanks to the new fashion revolutions taking place we can now have them as different fashion items; shoes, tops, blazers, bags, clutch, accessorise, sandals and so on. Even celebrities wear them now.

However, one thing that caught my eyes this month is the new Ankara shoes from Aldo. they are so gorgeous; on first look however i thought to my self that i would be one of those restricting fashion trends (probably look good on some certain outfits) but after wearing them, i found out they are not guilty of this sin.

Apart from being a hot fashion trend, it is also a way of helping the earth by simply recycling (now you wondering how £85 off your account will help the earth) its quite simple. All you need are

New or old Ankara material, it could be from an old dress that doesn't fit anymore
2.       A pair of scissors
3.       A pair of old shoes that still fit and you love so much but won’t just throw away (leather wearing off, heel fading generally not very presentable anymore)
4.       Glue (please do not use super glue on your shoes, hair glue would do the magic and it would let you take  the material off if you make mistakes. )

All you have to now is neatly measure, cut and past the material on the shoe, making sure that the material does not overlap. Do not be afraid to make mistakes i made a lot of that myself.
You can carry out this process on any fashion item; bangles, rings, earrings and bags (to do this on a bag you would have to sew it).

I have also practiced what i am preaching with an old pair of shoe and a bangle i do not like anymore and the pictures are included.

Don't be afraid to try them on anything even other African print designs. they are just simply gorgeous.

with  love Gg.
